YouTube Turbo Downloader

The settings explained, switch by switch

Open the extension's settings from the browser's add-ons page (or its toolbar menu). There are only a few switches, and each one is saved the moment you change it. This is what each does and when to use it.

Updates: Secure verification

Off by default. YouTube sometimes asks for proof that a request is genuine, and what it expects changes from time to time. When you switch this on, the add-on gets signed settings and, when YouTube asks for one, a proof token from our server, so downloads keep working after a YouTube change. It sends no video names or links. A small indicator next to the switch shows whether the connection works, and Connection details shows the technical details if you need them for a bug report.

Use it when downloads fail with a protected video message. Read Secure verification in detail. On Firefox 140 and later it also needs your permission for optional data sharing.

Troubleshooting: Diagnostic log

Off by default. When on, the add-on prints what it is doing to the browser's developer console only; nothing is sent anywhere. Switch it on only if support asks, and include what it prints in your bug report.

Help links

At the bottom of the page are shortcuts to contact support, report a problem and rate the add-on.

Questions

Are my settings saved when I update?

Settings are kept by the browser together with the extension, so they stay across updates.

Why is Secure verification off by default?

Because most downloads work without it, and it talks to our server. You decide when you need it.

Can I hide the button on the player?

Yes: switch off Download button. The toolbar icon still works.
